A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR THE 50TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($177 ,374.00), TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR OASIS NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS IN CDBG ELIGIBLE AREAS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the 50th Year Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 is administered by Broward County Housing Finance and Community Development Division; and WHEREAS, the City of Dania Beach w ill apply for the 50th Year CDBG Program in the amount of One Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($177 ,374.00), for Census Track 804.05 -Block Group 2 eligible area; and WHEREAS, Public Notice was published in the Sun-Sentinel on March 29, 2024, ten day s prior to the April 9, 2024, Public Hearing; and WHEREAS , a public hearing was held on April 9, 2024, during the City Commission Meeting, public comments were received on the City's proposed application for the "Oasis Neighborhood Improvement Program, Phase XVII"; and WHEREAS, the CDBG Program does not require a City match. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are made a pa.it of and incorporated into this Resolution by this reference. Section 2. That the 50th Year application for the Community Development Block Grant Program for the "Oasis Neighborhood Improvement Program, Phase XVII" within Census Track 804.05 -Block Group 2 in the amount of One Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($177,374.00) in compliance with CDBG regulations, is approved and the submission of the application by the proper City officials is approved. Section 3. That the City Manager and City Attorney ai·e authorized to make minor revisions to the application as ai·e deemed necessary and proper for the best interests of the City. Section 4. That CDBG funding in the amount of $177,374.00 for the Oasis Neighborhood Improvement Project will be funded by the County Section 5. That all resolutions or pa1is of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 6. That this Resolution shall be effective 10 days after passage.
