On a motion by Conmissioner Kay, seconded by Corunissioner Adler the
City l,ianaqer was authorized to authorj.ze the City Engineer to do a
prelir';rinary study an.l cost analysls for a drainage distri.t for the
part of the City r.rest of the railroad. The ,'noticn passed.

Commission authcrized the Citv Manager to conta.t the City 3f Fort
Lauderdale and ask [hem to serve the small strip of land south of the
Pcnt pro,Derty, bcrdering the Spur Railroad off Ncrth Eedez'al, and to
annex ii: into their City Limits. The m.oticn passed.
The City Manager presented the problem of getting selters installed in 1
S.E. 7th Street after the street is constructed. On a inoticn by
Conr.nis s ioner Adler, seconded by Cornmissioner l(ay, the Comrnission
authorize.l the city Manager to take the necessary steps tc hstall
this line and assess the cost to the benefitted ploperties. The
motion pa ssed.
On a motion by Commissioner Adler, seconded by Commissioner lGy, the
Commission approved the concept of hiring an executive director or
secretary for the Broward League of Cities if the cost is pro rata
according to the present dues assessment formula. The notion- passed.
I,1r. \dalker answered various queslions posed to h,im by Connissioner
Duncaison concerning Piraters World. At the end of the dj.scussion
Comnissioner Duncanson stated that he uras satisfied with the report.
The City Manager pointed out to the Comml-ssion the LeElisletion had
made many changes in the past session, esqecially in ttre Ho;r,e RuIe
BiLI for local government. He recommended that the Cj.ty Attorney
break,Jown this bill and advise the Commission of its totai impact.
The Coir-mission instructed the Ci.ty Attorn-'y to outline th€ effect of
this bill for" their guidance.
On a j'rotion by Comrnissioner .Iackson, seccndeci b:, Coininiss:-oner Adler,
the Conu:rission instructed the City Attorney to file suit against State
Paving for damages caused to the City utilities during the reconstruetion
of a-i-A. The damages anounted to approximatel-y $8,0t0. 0' The
motion oassed.

placing the recornmended zoning of the new land use plan cn aII
prope"ties in the City. ft lvas suggested that the City i{anager, or a
consultant that he would designate, should r,rork with the City Attolney
to up grade and modify our zoning ordinances.

Police Communications System. The motion passed.
