A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DANIA
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION FOR THE FLORIDA RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM C'FRDAP') TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FOR STATE OF FLORIDA FISCAL
YEAR 2024-2025 FOR ADDITIONAL PLAY STRUCTURE AND MINOR
PARK IMPROVEMENTS AT DANIA COVE PARK; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; FURTHER, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,theCitywishestoapplytotheFloridaDepartmentofEnvironmental
Protection for a Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program Grant to benefit the local
residents; and
WHEREAS, there is a present and growing need for outdoor recreation oppomrnities
among persons ofall ages within the City and for those visiting the area; and
wHEREAS, meeting the increasing demand for recreation opportunities can best be met
with the addition of a play slructure and minor park improvements at Dania Cove Park as detailed
in the application for funding for which the city is applying in the September 16 - 30,2024
application cycle, for a grant project with an estimated cost ofone Hundred and Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($ 150,00 o.oo),25% of which will be funded by the city, and,75Yo will be tunded by the
State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DANIA BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the above "Whereas" clauses are ratified and confirmed, and they are
made a part ofand incorporated into this Resolution by this reference'
Section 2. That the City of Dania Beach is authorized to execute all the documents
required in connection with the filing ofthe application to be submitted by September 30, 2024.
section 3. That as part of the application for the Florida Recreational Development
Assistance Program ("FRDAP") grant, the fiscal yeat 2024-2025 proposed budget includes a grant
project with a total cost of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00), with State
FRDAP grant funding in the amount $l12,500.00 (75%) and City matching funding in the amount
of $37,s00.00 (2s%).
Section 4. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution
are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall be effective l0 days after passage'
