Commissioner Lewellen asked how this was going to be enforced and City Attorney Boutsis responded that the issue with the advertising came up from a resident who had a vacation rental, so it is clarifying the code, the noise issue will be easy to follow up as the city has a process to follow. As to the occupancy issue, this will clarify the code so that Code Compliance does not have to be in the middle of the argument. It will come down to if there is a noise ordinance violation and the police go out and see more than 10 people sleeping or if there is an admission of over 10 people sleeping overnight but no one is going to go in to inspect. Commissioner Ryan asked about working with the rental companies to not allow bookings for less than five days when entering the cities zip code.
