SUBJECT: Change order #6 request for deduct of billed owner contingency use items from pay app
13.
REQUEST
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting authorization by the City Manager approving change
order #6 which is a request from the City of Dania Beach to deduct item 39.1 and 39.2 from pay app 13
which formerly item number 35.3 and 35.4 in pay app number 12.
BACKGROUND
Burkhardt Construction, Inc. was reflecting city use owner contingency purchases on the prior pay
apps, pay app 12, which would in turn make the overall costs of the project to look higher than the
projected total.
After speaking with the Yeimy Guzman, CFO, with the City of Dania Beach, it was requested the
Burkhardt Construction, Inc. deduct these two items, item 39.1 and 39.2 from pay app 13 which
formerly item number 35.3 and 35.4 in pay app number 12, in the among of $56,066.78 and create a
separate pay application specifically for City Contingency use purchases to properly track money spent.
Therefore, Burkhardt Construction, Inc. has now created an Owner’s Contingency Payout app for tracking
these expenses.
Change order number 6, in the amount of $56,066.78, requests this deduction from pay app 13 for proper
accounting purposes.
The Department is requesting approval of the above-mentioned change order.
BUDGETARY IMPACT
No budgetary impact. This change order is specifically for proper accounting purposes.
