licenses necessary for the upgrade
_ Download the ISO files for the
Hypervisor install and vCenter
_ Started the vCenter upgrade first
_ Once completed, I attempted to
license the product and got an error
_ I got with Darryl letting him know
the asset did not match the license
he gave me
_ He was able to upgrade the
licenses on the portal and provide
new license keys
_ These key worked
_ Update each ESXi host by
placing one at a time in
Maintenance mode

the system found a conflict being
that the domain already exists
_ I had to rebuild the vCenter and a
new cluster
_ Once the new cluster is online I
evict all the hosts from the old
cluster
_ Add the hosts to the new cluster
_ Join the vCenter server to the
domain
_ Configure SSO and add a group
to the vCenter
_ I got with Darryl and had him
check to make sure he could login

Citrix website
_ I logged in and downloaded the
renewed certificate
_ Installed it on the CODB-
VMXM01 server
_ Using the export option to get the
.pfx file
_ In the NetScaler I did not see the
option to update the StoreFront
connection
_ I suspect this is due to the in-
place firmware update that was
carried out a few weeks earlier
_ Instead of deleting the XenApp
StoreFront connection, a newer
NetScaler build was available
_ Download the new firmware
_ Import to Center and configure
the settings
_ Add the licenses and certificate
_ Update the connections in the

troubleshoot the MFA configuration,
I notice we did not have the
required license
_ Even though the license was not
available I was still able to make the
configurations
_ I logged into Azure and configure
the SSO Enterprise application
_ Troubleshoot the User name it
sent back to Citrix
_ I found that it was sending back
the email address
_ I updated this to send the
SamAccountName
_ I logged in but no resources were
available
_ I'm not sure if this is a license
issue or a configuration
_ I told Darryl I will have to log more
into this and get back to him
_ I will have to call Support to see if
this is required
_ Revert the configuration so
authentication would work

_ I logged in with no issues, but

_ I told Darryl I'll back to him as to
what happened and revisit this
deployment

_ I widened the scope and he was
able to log in now
_ We confirm the certificate

_ I had him restart the Comcast
modem
_ When that didn't work, then I told
him there might be a loop
_ I asked that he remove the IP
address on the LAN VLAN1
_ Once he did that we were able to
login to the firewall
_ I told him I'll log in and complete
the configuration

interface

looking to accomplish
_ In the end, he wasn't really
understanding and he was
suggesting something different
_ I got to work and showed him it
was possible and all we needed
was a way to tell the router to send
the traffic to the FortiGate
_ He was able to add the route to
the FortiGate and corrected the
issue
_ We were able to ping both sides
_ I told Darryl this issue is resolved

user and it was fine

inaccessible
_ The VMs that were working takes
a long time to respond
_ Check the Storage to make sure
that wasn't an issue
_ I rebooted the vCenter server
_ After it came back up, things
started to move a little faster
_ Citrix was down as well
_ Made sure the services for Citrix
were running
_ When that didn't work, I rebooted
the server
_ I remove into the XenApp server,
start the services
_ Still no go so I rebooted the
XenApp server too
_ Once the server came back up, I
was able to remote in via Citrix
_ The DC2 was having a DNS
resolution issue
_ I just rebooted the system
_ It seems they had a power outage
and all the VMs powered down
_ Update Danny that all should be
well now

sure and I had the same issue
_ I knew right after that this was
due to the Apogee acccount
_ I logged into the system and saw
that the Apogee password was
updated
_ I needed to log in and update the
password or use the Citrix service
account for this
_ I got in, reset the Citrix service
password
_ Add the password to the
NetScaler
_ Apply the settings and test that
logins were working again
_ Update Monica letting her know
the users should have no issues
getting in now
